BLISS is the story of Michael Wells, a young man who feels trapped in his life, weighed down by burdens that are not of his choosing – the death of his father, and a mother and single-mom sister who depend on him. While working at his dead-end job as a wedding DJ assistant, Michael meets the beautiful and vivacious Jade, and is instantly inspired to make a big change. Michael leaves everything he knows behind and follows her to Bliss, a bar she runs in the Spain along with a band of seemingly carefree European expatriates. He soon discovers that their life of freedom has its own binds, and even Jade may not be as happy as she pretends. He meets local girl Marina, whose joy – grounded in Spanish life and tradition – makes his party world seem even emptier. And when tragedy strikes at Bliss, Michael faces the choice to stay and help rebuild the bar with Jade or return home to the family whose love he is only now beginning to appreciate.
